![]() | what punishment would i get if i was caught drink driving twice and failed to go to court a year and half ago? |
i was driving wivout insurance or tax and i ave not turned up at court and i also caused about £10,000 pounds worth of damage to a parked car
Answer (by Mozart):
If you've failed to turn up at court it's presumably because you now no longer live at the address given to the police at the time? There will be a warrant issued, without bail, hopefully, and so when you are finally caught I think you can expect a jail sentence. It may help your case if you surrender yourself but then most people who drink/drive and don't have insurance are totally irresponsible and unlikely to be brave enough to give themselves up!!!

![]() | If i drank 10 bottles of beer at 1.7 units and started at 3p.m. when would i likely be legal to drive again? |
Im 24 and would say im quite fit and have a above average metabolism. Im 24 quite fit with an above average metabolism,I also intend on going to bed at 10 p.m. so that would mean 10 bottles being drank in 7 hours.
Answer (by Chainsaw II):
Now that would depend on the beer you drank and it's alcohol content, wouldn't it?

Police application and drunk driving Q? |
At the start of 2003 I got pulled over for my tail light being out, I had been on the pop and regretably got in the car....I had had a couple of bottle of beer and although was not wa-hey drunk should not of been driving. I took an on the spot breath test which I failed and was arrested and taken to station. They took details etc and I was asked to take another test on the stations calibrated machine. My results were one on the limit and the other 1 pont over...I was told they take the lowest and was very lucky as because of that passed. That was the scare of my life and for someone who has never had dealing with the police before and is a hard working tax payer showed me how easy it could be to ruin my life and never have I got into the driving seat after a drink since that night. Ok so now I am applying to the police and I am unsure if I need to put this on as I was arrested by not charged and don't think warned? It was all a blur (not through the drink) but because I was shitting myself so much and think I have pushed it the the back of my head as am ashamed of my behavior. It asks on the form to declare if I have had any convictions, warnings or cautions and if I have been arrested. Would I have been cautioned??? What do I do? Thanks Char xx
Answer (by Ian UK):
Definitely disclose it. They will have it on record anyway. If you don't disclose it then your integrity will be in question when they find out, which they will.
This is obviously a stupid mistake as you have indicated and you appear to have learnt from it from what you've said.
Be as honest as you can with your application as checks will be made into the validity of the information you supply so anything you lie about will be discovered and you won't get the job full stop. If you are honest about it then you should be fine.
As you were never charged with offence it shouldn't have a bearing anyway but generally speaking offences in criminal cases are only taken into account for 5 years so even that time limit has expired now.
Good luck with the application.

![]() | can i enter australia and new zealand as a tourist(3 months) with a criminal conviction,drink drive? |
Answer (by Ozmaniac):
Unless you were sentenced to a 1 year or more prison term or multiple prison terms for a total of 2 years or more, you should be OK, though you shouldn't apply for an Australian ETA with any conviction. Apply instead for a Tourist visa (subclass 676).

In the us,what age do you have to be to drink alcohol and drive? |
Im 16 and will be going there this year or early next year,i live in the uk,you have to be 17 to drive and 18 to drink alcohol in the uk,im not bothered about driving yet,but i want to know what age you have to be to drink alcohol in the us I meant two different questions,i dont even want to drive,i was just curious
Answer (by makawao_kane):
16 years old to drive, although you can drive as young as 14 if you live on a farm.
21 to drink. There is a new bill trying to be approved that would change the drinking age to 18 once again (it was changed to 21 back in the early 80's), but I don't think it will pass.
