Tom Tom One V3 - easy to use and reliable, latest price I checked was in Halfords for around £95. Also try in Argos, Google shopping and Play.com for a good deal.

I bought a Garmin for 400 dollars 2 years ago, same unit is now only 200 at places like best buy. I delivered pizzas and travelled all over the western US with it, and it never failed.

You have to pay for turn by turn sat nav on the nokia n95 is there any free or cheap software out there which gives turn by turn voice guidence sat anv on the N95 which runs of the phone or a memory card and dose not need to download any extra data or have any extra costs

You could buy a Sattelite nav. Tom tom is a great brand of sat nav. Although i dont think there is any other sat nav software available on the nokia95 sorry.

My two sons have bought Harmon Kardon sat navs, plays MP3 and video on an SD card too. For less than £20 a year you get the updated camera alerts. Nice things, with a 4 inch touch screen. And £120...

Sat Nav, how do they work & which one would you recommend for someone who has never used one & is cheap!?

I've been using AA route planner & printing of map! which is very old fashioned I know, however thinking of investing in a Sat Nav I need one that is easy to use for uk only & how realible are they & do they need any special equipment to set up & is it mobile i.e if I changed cars?? Any advice/tips would be much appreciated.

sat navs are very mobile just ask the twat that nicked mine insurance paid out and now I have a tom tom no problems extremely accurate best buy I ever made

I would have a look on eBay for a PDA, gps antenna and some tomtom software, you can download all the speed cameras and POI's free from the internet. Mines been great, it has taken me across Europe avoiding the toll roads many times , and you can down load the speed cameras for each country. and use it as a PDA as well...

NavU or a crappy RAC one .. probably cheapest in PCworld or Halfords. Normally about £120 have seen some really cheap ones floating about for £99 but thats about as cheap as you can go. I got a nice Sony one.. So i f i was you i would just save up and get a more expensive one ( if you like features ) plus it will avoid disappointment.
